CHATEAU DE FONBEL SAINT-EMILION 2020 / 750ML / 13.5%ALC

Very sadly there is only half the normal production of Fonbel this year because of the mildew and the drought. Produced from an interesting blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Carmenère, the wine has a pretty crimson colour; attractive aromas of fresh black fruit, minerals and spice and a crunchy, fruity texture on the palate with good concentration, no doubt because of the greatly reduced yields this year. A successful, juicy wine with lovely fresh tannic structure and so drinkable already. (FM
